Blueberry Masala Soda

This one takes me back to India! The variety of food, fruits & veggies you get in the Tropics is just incomparable! Masala Soda is not my invention - it is a drink that has been around for ages! I can only remix it to tailor my needs - which is make it healthier & gut-friendly. This is a perfect drink to add to your summer get togethers or pool party...or just to kick back on a warm afternoon with some friends.

Prep time: 5-10 min, Cook time: 0 min, Serving size: 1 drink

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries

  • a few mint leaves

  • 1 1/2 fresh lime juice

  • 1/4 tsp cumin

  • 1/4 tsp chaat masala

  • 6 Oz water or sparkling water

  • salt to taste

  • maple syrup to taste

  • ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients except water and ice to a glass.

  2. Use a cocktail smasher or back of a spoon to mash & mix all ingredients together.

  3. Add ice & 6Oz of (flat or sparkling) water.

  4. Give it all a thorough mix / stir.

  5. Garnish with lime slices & mint and ENJOY!!

Notes:

  • Serving size is 1. If you need to make this for more, stack on the ingredients as needed!

  • Salt: I added less than 1/4 tsp

  • Sweetner: Play around with the sweetness level to your liking. I would not recommend exceeding more than 1 tbsp per serving.

  • Chaat Masala: You can find this in any Indian Grocery store! I used Indian As Apple Pie brand that I picked up from Whole Foods.
